Basic principles of Graphology
- Although they may be similar, no two handwritings are identical. Each person’s handwriting is unique and therefore provides an insight into his or her individual character.
- Graphology cannot be used to reveal the age or sex of an individual. Handwriting can reveal masculine or feminine character, and maturity and immaturity, since these can be present in the handwriting of someone no matter the gender or age.
- Graphology cannot be used to predict the future; it is not a crystal ball.
How can I use Graphology?
Graphology can be used in a variety of situations:
- Psychologists often study graphology so that they can use this as another character-analysis tool for studying human behavior.
- Graphotherapists believe it can even be used to assess and improve the state of a person’s mental health.
- Graphopathologists believe handwriting can be used as medical diagnostic tool, identifying the particular disease or condition a writer has. While graphopathology has largely fallen out of favor, it is now accepted that handwriting analysis can provide warning signs of an illness in the early stages.
- Forensic graphologists are employed to check the veracity of documents, to see if a signature or other writing has been forged, and to identify, or not, suspects by their handwriting.
